Week 26 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Weekly rod average 8.6
Another spectacular week on the dries, although twiddling a washing line with booby or foam daddy with black and claret hoppers up the line has been deadly as the wind picked up.
Best areas this week have been; old telegraph; drifts along doctors bank either side of ashopton viaduct; and of course the basin between dam and the cages.
Weve had some reports of big fish, fry feeding on roach and perch fry at underbank in the snake arm, this will be my first drift next time im out on the water.
Notable catches this week have been numerous:
Dan Tranter's party , up from essex this week recording forty plus to his boat, alan Richardson had a great day on tuesday with thirty five to his foam daddies throughout the basin, steve martin martin Rowson and adam larbalestier all taking twenty plus on a variety of dries but also pulling on the di5 sweep.
Floating and intermediate lines are still the most used however.
Best flies this week:
• Foam daddies
• Culs,
• Sedgehogs( popped on a floater or slow tip)
• Cormorants and hoppers
Tequila, candy and cat boobies also very effective pulled a bit faster.
Were always happy to post your pics of your fish on here, if you get time to send is any fish pics to…
I’d also like to give a big shout out to Richard Walker Nick Halstead and everyone one else who has sponsored or supported our evening league over the summer; it was a huge success with several new anglers to loch styling getting firmly hooked themselves.
Continuing cooler weather bodes well for another exciting week up here at Ladybower Fisheries( rod average of 11.8 on Sunday!)
