Week 19 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Stocking to date - 18,000
Another warm one unfortunately, although thankfully, not the scorching temperatures that we have had. The surface temperature still remains warm and trout remain deep in the majority.
Sinking lines have been required this week and when theres a light wind you can get down to the 20-30ft depth that the bulk of the fish are holding at. A short leader, no more than 10ft and 2 boobies is the method we'd recommend.
It really does feel that in a couple of weeks time, with the weather on our side and the fish we have stocked, Ladybower will kick off big time! August promises some mega terrestials coming on to the water and those that fished last year know what to expect on the dries when all the stars align.
Some fish are still coming blind for a dry now though, especially early morning and late evening.
The Tuesday night league was a great success with anglers coming from far and wide to sample boat fishing in the evening for the very first time on Ladybower!
Nick Halstead took top spot on the night with a very respectful 5 fish, all to dries. Well done mate.
We'd also like to give a huge shout out to Richard Walker that has taken the evening league by the reigns and is doing an amazing job at running it on our behalf. Many thanks pal.
Should anyone wish to enter the event, please contact Richard directly. His details can be found on the previous results post.
