Week 17 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Stocking to date - 15,000
Another testing week unfortunately. That said only a few boats ventured out each day, maybe the football is on everyone's mind at the moment?
We did have a cooler week which gives hope that the Bower could switch back on any day now, the surface temperature has cooled off nicely and with the addition of 1000 home grown rainbows introduced on Wednesday things should get better soon.
The fishing at the moment is probably best described as oppertuinist. What we mean by that is take your chances when you get them! When conditions align, fish are there to be had but remember what the ideal conditions are: overcast, gentle, warm breeze. Don't ever neglect dries on Ladybower, even when very little is showing. A black daddy can often draw fish up blind.
For those who have it in their armoury, sinking lines are now worth exploring. But bear in mind that in the hot conditions it'll be surprising if they want it fast. 2 boobies, twiddled at various countdowns is the way forward to searching the depths.
Looking ahead there's a further 2000 fighting fit trout going in this week which should help stirring up current residents.
A quick ask from us please guys while your out on the water, if you get the chance to take any pictures please do and we'd kindly ask if you can share them with a member of staff. It puts a smile on our face as well as yours when we have plenty of photos to share! Thank you!
