Week 37 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Season Total stocking to date: 28,300
This week has been all about the big fish! We are now getting water back in to the reservoir each day, that paired with the cooler water temperature seems to have stirred up the lumps for sure!
Monday saw the first double landed from the bank this week with the 12lb rainbow taking a liking to a squirmy worm fishing under the indicator.
Next up was season ticket holder, Voy, again from the bank. He spotted a group of huge fish coming past the jetty area, cast to them and hooked in to a huge rainbow straight away! Sadly this one didn't get as far as the net as the hooked pulled he wasn't to worry though as 2 casts later and he hooked up again in to a big fish. This one he managed to get the better of, weighed at 13lb. Well done mate.
Other doubles were caught from boats at the weekend. One particularly huge fish estimated to be around the 20lb mark that came from the dam area in the main basin.
These big fish are certainly on the move now and with only a couple of weeks remaining in the season now is the best chance of you bumping in to a new personal best, only at Ladybower, the home of the big bows!
As the weekend came around we saw some incredible catches for this time of year. Boats have had success all way around the reservoir. With pulling tactics being the preferred method. Blobs, boobies and larger lures all on fast glass or di3 lines have brought the majority to the net.
A reminder that last day of the trout season will be Sunday November the 30th.
Notable Catches This Week:
• Top honours from the boats for the week went to Mark Close and Anthony McKenna. They had an incredible session on Sunday landing 42 between them pulling blobs on a fast glass. Their top areas were Rasberry bay and the Monument. Well done gents, great angling this time of year

A quick note on catch returns...
Just of late we've had a few returns not handed back in after a session. Please could we kindly ask to be sure to hand your return in at either the fishery office, which is open until 6pm or one of the catch return boxes. These boxes are located on the fence next to the fishery office or at the gate for the Derwenìt arm. We rely on these returns for our stocking program so the more returns we get the more fish will be there for you to catch next time!
Also, don't forget, when you hand a correctly filled out return in to us, its automatically entered in to the monthly draw for a free C+R ticket on your next visit so what's there to lose! Keep your eyes peeled on our page for this months winner
A reminder that our fishery manager, Warren Langridge, is now set up to offer tuition and fully guided fishing trips. You can book via the office on 01433 659712 or by using the link on this page of our website: https://www.ladybowerfisheries.co.uk/tuition
A few words about the rules…..
The new cages have a 50m exclusion zone around them (indicated by a perimeter of buoys). Please respect this perimeter and do not cross into it. This applies to everybody.
Ladybower Fisheries would once again like to remind all our boat anglers that standing up in the boat to fish or motor is strictly prohibited. We’re still seeing isolated instances of this practice, but thankfully most seem to have got the message. Safety on the water is of paramount importance to all of us. Please follow the rules (they’re there for a very good—and sadly tragic—reason which occurred at another UK reservoir). Please remain seated. Many thanks.
