Week 34 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Season Total stocking to date: 26,200
Flat calm conditions for most of the week has seen excellent top of the water sport! Last week, most mornings, we have had really good buzzers hatches and fish are certainly switched on to them, free rising across the whole reservoir!
It's also evident the the fish are coming really close in to the banks. Bank anglers are enjoying sport just as much as the boats now and consistent sport can be found all down the road side bank of the main basin or pickles and grainfoot should you choose to venture up the Derwent arm.
On to patterns... two patterns to certainly have in your armoury at the moment are a size 14 black cdc Shuttlecock and a suspender minkie type fry pattern. We're aiming to do a couple of videos this week on the bank fishing these patterns so keep your eyes peeled for those.
Friday we stocked another 1,000 fish up the snake arm. We maybe coming towards the end of the season but we'll keep pumping those fish in until we close.
More doubles landed this week! There's certainly no other reservoir right now producing the amount of doubles that Ladybower is week on week! Come and have a go for one of Ladybowers finest! Home of the big bows...

A quick note on catch returns...
Just of late we've had a few returns not handed back in after a session. Please could we kindly ask to be sure to hand your return in at either the fishery office, which is open until 6pm or one of the catch return boxes. These boxes are located on the fence next to the fishery office or at the gate for the Derwenìt arm. We rely on these returns for our stocking program so the more returns we get the more fish will be there for you to catch next time!
Also, don't forget, when you hand a correctly filled out return in to us, its automatically entered in to the monthly draw for a free C+R ticket on your next visit so what's there to lose! Keep your eyes peeled on our page for this months winner
A reminder that our fishery manager, Warren Langridge, is now set up to offer tuition and fully guided fishing trips. You can book via the office on 01433 659712 or by using the link on this page of our website: https://www.ladybowerfisheries.co.uk/tuition
A few words about the rules…..
The new cages have a 50m exclusion zone around them (indicated by a perimeter of buoys). Please respect this perimeter and do not cross into it. This applies to everybody.
Ladybower Fisheries would once again like to remind all our boat anglers that standing up in the boat to fish or motor is strictly prohibited. We’re still seeing isolated instances of this practice, but thankfully most seem to have got the message. Safety on the water is of paramount importance to all of us. Please follow the rules (they’re there for a very good—and sadly tragic—reason which occurred at another UK reservoir). Please remain seated. Many thanks.
