    Todays Kickback Recovery Activity!What a Brilliant day spent at Ladybower fisheries. 1-2-1 fly fishing coaching followed by a trip on the new speed boat. A very big thank you to Troy and all the staff at Ladybower for giving us a great day.

  • British Disabled Angling Association

    Tibshelf Community School (SEND) pupils BDAA funded Fish N Friends fishing club,. They have learnt more about the history of Ladybower and focused on how the water is pumped around the surrounding area. Then it was back to the BDAA Pioner boats to do a spot of fly fishing before home time. A great day was had by all.

    So today we went to accessibility fishing and was assessed by Troy, a lovely gentleman who went through everything to help me fish. I got the hang of fishing with a power assisted reel. If you want to get into fishing please get in touch with them and they will do everything they can to help. They work closely with the British Disabled Angling Association who help fund some of the equipment.

    “A beautiful day again at Ladybower, sun was out most of the day, still a bit breezy at times.

    Managed to land 7 lovely trout. All good fighting fish at a good size. Fly's that worked for me today were the Mrs Simpson, Cat's Whisker, Cormorant as a dropper, and a Puddle Bug at the end under an indicator.”

    “First trout session of the year on Ladybower is always special. It means spring is on its way. I always start up Grainfoot, mostly for the views! But there were fish up there today, managed 5 on lures, before the rain really came in. The water has cleared nicely, and there were some buzzers coming off in the middle of the day. With the better weather forecast next week it should be great. Thanks fellas, the hard work is paying off!”
