Coaches and Team

  • Geoff Smith

    Geoff has been the owner of Ladybower Fisheries since 2010 and responsible for building the fishery back to where it now is. He has also found time to become an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach and is well known on the coaching circuit.

  • Troy Chadwick

    Troy Chadwick has been nursing for over 21 years and has experience of working with stroke, learning disabilities and dementia clients. He is Ladybower Fisheries Accessibility Coordinator with Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach certification and is also a qualified Level 2 Power Boat Handler. He’s dedicated to offering support to individuals or groups with a wide range of disabilities to enable them to experience the freedom of the open water, using our adapted fishing equipment, pontoons and boats with a flexible approach.

  • Richard Jamieson

    Specialising in float tubing whether in freshwater or at sea, Richard is also an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach as well as a Level 2 Power Boat Handler. He’s been involved with Ladybower Fisheries for over ten years and regularly assists anglers with their efforts, whether beginners, improvers or the experienced.

  • Dave Woodhead

    A vastly experienced Angler with Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach status, Dave was brought up on the rivers of Sheffield and surrounding areas and is also an accomplished match fisherman and passionate float tubing coach.

  • Austen Colledge

    Austen is an experienced river angler with Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach status and also having a passion for entomology. With these interests it has given him a knowledge of the area leading to many satisfied clients.

  • Richard Grainger

    50 + years experience of fishing Ladybower, Richard is also an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach status, previously with 28 years NHS experience covering all aspects of care/safeguarding. Favourite drink: Tea, Favourite quote: Be down looking up and has a passion for the pastime

  • Lee Hunt

    Apart from being an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach, Lee mainly works with the charity 'Fishing for Heroes' regularly attending the fishery to pass on his wisdom with a fly rod. He can also be found on various coarse fisheries, particularly rivers, where his skill on the centre pin, trotting a float for chub and Barbel is particularly noteworthy.

  • Tony Campbell

    Tony is an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach, as well as being a Coach Educator. This has given Tony the opportunity to meet lots of anglers who desired to learn how to coach effectively. Having worked with many top anglers and ‘converted’ lots more into becoming coaches, it has given him great pleasure and a feeling of being part of their coaching careers.

  • Iain Lindsay

    Iain is an Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach, specializing in Float Tubing as well as handling all other fly-fishing disciplines. Another of our team with over 50 years fly-fishing experience, Iain has an uncanny knack of catching trout on even the most challenging days!

  • Mark Butterley

    Mark is a fly fishing angler when he gets time and also volunteers at Ladybower managing the fish farm behind the scenes rearing the trout which are essential to the fishery’s existence. He has a good knowledge of fish health and housekeeping which is one of the main reasons we grow healthy strong fighting fish.

  • Phil Holland

    Phil is a volunteer member of staff and a keen angler of all disciplines and will help and support all visitors to Ladybower. Don’t forget Penny who loves everyone.

  • Steve Newsome

    Steve specialises in fly tying and also has Angling Trust 1st 4 Sport Lead Coach status. He’s been a visible fixture at Ladybower since he started fishing here in the mid 70's and has been tying and supplying his Blue Licer brand of flies to the fishery since 1983.
