Friday 19th July (part 2).......Cracking start to the day, despite the inclement weather conditions. 19 year old Harry Morris from Sheffield popped down for a morning's tuition and after an hour or so, getting the casting sorted, started to get interest in his Gold Head GRHE fly from the casting pontoon. Two false plucks led to a third which wrenched the rod round and Harry was into his first rainbow trout. πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ Being a coarse angler had already given him the experience to play the fish properly and despite its valiant efforts to dive under the pontoon, he expertly corrected the course and guided it into the waiting net in short order. πŸ‘ Well done Harry! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Friday 19th July........Every now and again we get gifted a bit of history at Ladybower. This fishing diary, which belonged to Stan Watson of Rotherham, charts his exploits from January 1994 up until June 1998. It includes a fair few pictures and also a press cutting featuring World Cup Winner and former Sheffield Wednesday manager Jack Charlton who was a regular at Ladybower when he lived nearby. 😎 Additionally, I bumped into a chap in the pub last night who produced his 1982 Season Ticket moderately priced at £63!

It’s stocking day today, so why not come and try and catch some of our hard fight home grown rainbows🐟🐟

The wheelyboat came up trumps yesterday with Ray and David on board returning 10 trout. The conditions were hard in the 23 degree, but there was plenty of fish moving around. Sink tips and intermediates caught the fish with snatchers, crunchers and diawl bach variants. The conditions look similar to yesterday with highs of 20 degrees and up to 8 mph wind. The wheelyboat is booked out again but we still have a couple of our fly fishing boats available.
