Today, we hosted the NW Nomads.......or as they're often called these days, 'The Devastation Angels'........πŸ˜‚

1. Paul Johnson........managed to inflate his lifejacket by accident dipping it in water while walking like a snail with his tube on his back......😜
2. Steve Elliot and Ian Parsons..........drogue wrapped around propellor.....😜
3. Paul Johnson (again)......attempted to deceive his tubing partners by weighing in 4.5lbs of water in his bass bag alongside his 5lb fish.....😜😜
4. Nathan Jones........decided to leave two rods on the grass in front of Priddock House instead of the more sensible option 'taking them home'.....😜
5. Paul Johnson (again, again)......also leaving a rod at the office having demolished his float tube rod holder in a separate incident to the lifejacket fiasco.......😜😜😜
6. Steve Gildart.....losing his cigarettes over the side of the boat (this happens all the time apparently) and subsequently going through shivering withdrawal symptoms: "has anybody got a fag?" at the office during the weigh-in.......😳
7. Paul Kuczera.........a personal best 13.5lb rainbow trout......and the concurrent demise of his Redington Redfly rod. I doubt he was overly concerned about the rod judging by the smile on his face (see pictures)....πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘

For the first time ever outside of a Complete Fisher Forum Social event, I've decided to award dear old Paul Johnson 'The Hand Of Satan' for his outstanding and colossal bungling! Well played Sir! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» To the Nomads, you brought a smile to all of us at Ladybower today and we look forward to seeing you again very soon! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ ATB, Rich' πŸ‘

Black clouds, thunder and lightning, sharks and a plague of frogs won't be making an appearance at Ladybower today. We have a forecast of light winds and sunny spells and as you can see from these pictures taken at 7am, the scenery's not bad........πŸ‘ See yesterday's report for an idea of how the fish were caught. 😎 We have a couple of boats still available so please call us if you fancy a late booking. πŸ˜€

For everybody fishing tomorrow (Sunday), particularly the NW Nomads who asked ever so nicely, I've had a preliminary look at today's catch returns. Top rod of the day was, predictably, Iain Lindsay with 16 fish. Iain caught these from his float-tube mostly on Iain's Ladybower Buzzer or Orange Blob fairly close to the banks in the top few feet of water. He picked up fish in Ladybower Bay, along towards the Ashopton Viaduct, around both plug holes and a couple on the way back along the road bank. Bank anglers also did well from the pontoon and Raspberry bay. Boats fared less well as they weren't able to get in as close and hold station but still managed reasonably healthy returns on variously coloured hothead damsels, wotsits, fuzzers and boobies. Smaller Nymphs did OK as well but didn't figure as highly. Most anglers opted for floating lines but intermediates and medium sinkers also made an appearance. Retrieves didn't seem to be that important provided the correct depth was found. πŸ˜€πŸ‘ Looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow morning! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ Cheers, Rich' πŸ‘

A promising start to the weekend at our humble fishery. A light breeze, sunny spells and a generally calm reservoir back up to full once again, should make for a great day's fishing with all available boats out and Iain Lindsay and Mick Woodcock in tubes to show them all how to do it properly. πŸ˜‚ We are once again honoured to have Susan Sissons at the venue, even if she's been forced to bring her husband along (BTW Paul, there's a consignment for you in the office πŸ˜‰) so all in all, let's have a shedload of fish caught! Top 5 feet of water seems to be the way of late although that is of course subject to change! 😎

Cheers!
Rich'

It’s a lovely day at Ladybower today with just a slight breeze on the water the reservoir has filled up nicely and the catch returns are looking good. We have 13 miles of bank fishing available but just one boat left for this afternoon. Why not give it a try 🎣🎣🎣🎣
