Catch Report Week 15

Week 15 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries

Season Total Stocking to Date: 12,000

The summer has finally arrived. The weather was nicely settled (before the heatwaves right now!) and fish fish were up and having it!

This being backed up by a very healthy rod average of 10.

Looking through the returns its dries, dries and more dries.

All the usual patterns taking fish including klinks, CDCs, daddies and hoppers. Mainly in black or darker colours to enhance the silhouette created by them. Although an orange daddy still goes well from time to time, especially on the stockies

Fly life is now in abundance with various forms of midge, caenis and greenfly being spotted on the water. Trout obviously gorging on these in certain areas.

Best spots from the boats point of view have been the main basin, especially the dam end, Rasberry bay and Fearfall Wood tight in. These areas have produced well for weeks now with very few boats venturing right up the arms. This is possibly due to the rising water temperature and decreasing water level meaning the trout have found comfort in depth in the mentioned spots.

Top returns:

Billy McGranaghan and his pal spent a number of days fishing last week and racked up A LOT of fish! Each day they landed over 50, mainly to dries or washing line commenting on CDCs and daddies being the way forward. Well in gents, pleasure having you
