Catch Report Week 7

Week 7 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries

Season Total stocking to date: 8,600

An outstanding rod average and more fish stocked!

The Bower is currently in top form! 134 returns were submitted last week for a total of 1114 fish caught, staggering numbers!

Not that we needed to but we also stocked another 900 fish on Friday!

With the reservoir fishing so well you can pretty much pick fish up from most areas now. Also, this week we have had numerous reports that Rasberry bay has switched on finally fish in general have been tight to the banks up there.

The usual areas are still producing well, Dam, roadside and Ladybower in the main basin and Grainfoot and past Millbrook the hot spots up the Derwent arm

Methods are beginning to change slightly, with the water now warming to 9 degrees at the surface, fish are coming higher in the water. Not quite on the dries just yet but it won't be long, at the time of writing this (Monday morning) we've got some warmer weather and a sprinkle of fish showing to small buzzers popping off.

That said it has been noted that pulling is taking the majority. Fast glass or a di3 when there's a breeze on and onto a slow glass on the more settled, warmer days. Flies can be whatever brings you confidence, blobs and boobies teamed with Cormorants or snakes and damsels will all pick fish up.

As mentioned we are now seeing a consistent buzzer hatch first thing in the morning, the calmer mornings fish can be seen rising right across the basin

Top returns

Once again, season ticket holder Nick Halstead went out with pal Malcolm and found fish in many areas of the reservoir. The Derwent arm in particular remained full of fish for them as they put 60+ fish in the boat. Not sure about the "cockwomble fly" stated on the return, but the fish must like it

Mark Parsley and Jack Westbury had a cracking day on their club get together. They pair netted 46 fish stating a fast glass was the best line and areas was "everywhere"
