Catch Report Week 2

Week 2 - 2026 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries

Season Total stocking to date: 4,700

The week proved challenging, with rapidly changing conditions affecting catch returns. Fish remained close to the margins, which favoured bank anglers overall.

Tactics for this time of year remained straightforward, although locating fish was particularly tricky. Fast glass and Di3 lines with larger patterns such as tadpoles, snakes, damsels, and Cat’s Whiskers continued to perform well. The bung also featured prominently, with success dependent on maintaining the correct depth; 3–6 feet proved an effective starting point.

Top Returns

• Colin Walker enjoyed a short session at Pickles Meadow, landing four fish on a sinking line using Orange Dog, Viva, and Black Fritz patterns.

• Terry Buckley caught seven fish bank fishing at Grainfoot with an intermediate line and Orange Snake.

• Christian Franklin (Boat 15) landed seven fish around the Ladybower Viaduct and Ladybower Bay on a 12ft sink tip and Di5 using buzzers and Sunburst Boobies.

• Paul Brown made the walk to Millbrook and caught eleven fish on a Di7 and boobies. He later finished sixth in the match below with a retained four fish.
