Wind, Waves & Whoppers – Week 8 Delivers in Style

It’s been a week of blustery easterlies up at Ladybower, but the buzzer hatches have remained strong and consistent—especially on Monday and Thursday, where rod averages topped 17!

Buzzer tactics are definitely the name of the game right now, particularly on tip lines. A huge shoutout to Mr. Cartamail from Middlesbrough who landed a stunning fish estimated at 15lb on a size 12 Diawl Bach on Saturday, part of a haul of over 40 fish—all on buzzers.

Highlights from the Bank & Boat:
• Tony Smith & Simon Peck (DCAC members) – 46 to the boat, including some cracking overwintered fish.

• Bruce Blackshaw & Mark Parsley – Over 50 fish to the boat midweek.

• John Kirk – Two sessions this week with 20+ fish each.

• Lee & Noah Tyson – Another standout Thursday with 34 to the boat.

• Mark Close – Fishing from the bank on Wednesday, took a fish of a lifetime—a massive brown estimated at 10lb plus!

Best Methods:
Pulling boobies on a fast glass early on, switching to tip lines with nymphs mid-morning.
